SPEED SURVEY, MORDA
Following concerns raised by local residents and our Parish Councils regarding speeding through Morda, Oswestry Rural South SNT carried out a speed monitoring exercise in the village. During the 30-minute survey, 60 vehicles were monitored on a road subject to a 30 mph speed limit.
Results: 60 vehicles monitored Average speed: 26.73 mph Highest speed recorded: 38 mph 8 vehicles recorded travelling above the 30 mph speed limit While the majority of motorists were travelling within the speed limit, we will continue to carry out speed monitoring across our rural communities in response to concerns raised by residents and Parish Councils. Our villages are home to families, pedestrians, cyclists and other road users. Speed limits are there to help keep everyone safe.
Those caught speeding are liable to prosecution, points, fines or speed awareness courses. DON’T SPEED. Keep our villages safe for everyone, or expect a ticket!
